THE BRIEF
Strategically situated in the heart of the city near the Hung Yen Convention Center, this project introduces the Novotel brand to the region with a striking 360-room tower. Our architectural design approach translates Novotel’s philosophy of "slow living" into a physical space, balancing the needs of high-paced business travelers with families seeking leisure. By optimizing the 2,690 m² site, we created a destination that functions as both a lively business hub and a comforting sanctuary, perfectly embodying the "bleisure" (business + leisure) lifestyle.
Acting as architectural and interior design consultants, the scope involved conceptualizing a highly functional, forward-thinking hotel. A critical focus was balancing high-capacity convention capabilities, including strategic ballroom spatial planning, with sustainable, circular operations. The design language dictates a striking architectural contrast: grounding the building with a classical podium before transitioning into a sleek, modern glass facade, all softened by tropical contemporary landscaping.
The building’s form is a visual dialogue between Hung Yen's past and future, symbolizing the region's evolution from the historic Pho Hien trading port to a modern commercial city. The design features a classical podium defined by soft, welcoming arches that ground the structure in history, intertwined with a contemporary facade utilizing strong linear language to represent modernity. This contrast allows the architecture to feel both energized and relaxed, creating a transition zone where guests can clock out, disconnect from the bustling city outside, and find a moment of wellbeing within the flawlessly designed spaces.
